Within the first six months of training trainees must complete the following requirements:

Attachments
Trainees should demonstrate progress toward completing attachments for nuclear medicine, breast, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and procedural radiology.
Experiential Training Requirements
Trainees should demonstrate progress toward completing experiential training requirements (ETRs).
It is recommended (not mandatory) that trainees complete the following by the end of Phase 1:

Trainees are required to perform and/or record the following:

Two Critically Appraised Topics (CATs) must be completed during Phase 1.
A proposal for the research project must be developed and approved by the end of Phase 1.

Trainees can request a portfolio review when they have completed a minimum of 12 months’ full-time equivalent (FTE) of accredited training time and when they have completed the Phase 1 requirements referred to above.
